He Is Worthy!

I Chronicles 16:23-36. Verses 25 & 26 "For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens." Revelation 5:12 "In a loud voice they sang: 'Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!" Why do we praise God? Most basically, because He is worthy of our praises. When we can begin to see Him for who He really is, rather than just a something or someone who is trying to get a piece of our pie, our natural response becomes an attitude of praise and worship. He "made the heavens", more specifically He made you, He made me. In the person of The Son, He loved us and died in our place. He is the "Lamb that was slain". The hope of anything other than complete eternal destruction is only in Him. So do we praise Him? Without a doubt! How do we praise Him? In everything from a quiet, 'Thank you Jesus" to dancing and shouting in gratitude before Him. We praise Him in our changed attitude and life-style. Worship, on the other hand, is the response to God as we actually enter into His presence. We are always in His presence, but when we become conscious in our spirits that He is really there - our response is worship. Worship is not shouting or dancing, but reverence and awe before a Holy God even to the point of falling on our faces before Him.
