How can I Be Free?

Romans 7:15 8:4. Have you ever wondered why it is so difficult to do what is right? It is certainly easy to identify with the Apostle Paul in these verses. The things I really want to do; I can't seem to do. But the things I'm learning to hate, these are the very things I find myself doing. You find yourself wondering. Will I ever be able to get a handle on these things?' I feel like there are two people inside me and they are always fighting about life styles, habits, attitudes, my mind is a battle ground. And the things I'm trying to leave seem so strong." The victory is not in the struggle. because as we struggle we will most surely lose. Paul realizes that the sinful nature is alive and strong.' He finally comes to the conclusion that the only escape is through Jesus Christ our Lord. The name is important. First, He is Jesus God who became man and lived among us. Second, He is the Christ, the coming Messiah the one who was promised and planned from eternity. Thirdly, He is Lord, the Master Creator, Sustainer, and Sovereign over all things. It is only as we are in Him that we have any hope of victory over the flesh. Jesus through His sacrifice on the cross paid for sin, defeated the sinful nature, and provided us with a spiritual nature. Just remember it takes two to have a fight. In this case our mind V.S. our sinful nature. Since Jesus already won that one, we are able to move immediately into the spiritual nature. God still gives us a choice as to which level we want to live; if we choose the spiritual nature as a lifestyle to walk in we win: if not we spend our time feeling bad about not making it. It is time to choose? Christ or the flesh? victory or defeat.
