Jesus Is Always on Time

John 11:1-44 Have you ever read an exciting book and getting to the last page the plot still hasn't been totally resolved, and as you start the last page you wonder, "How can the author possibly pull everything together in that little space?" Somehow, he does it. Of course, he can do it, after all he wrote the script. Sometimes when God quickens some of His Word to our spirit and the promise becomes the cry of our heart; we pray, and we pray, and we claim, and nothing seems to happen - silence. Maybe you begin to think it's too late, it wouldn't matter now if He did answer. I guess I heard wrong; or God has a cruel sense of humor. Then God answers and things begin to resolve before your eyes. You discover that His timing was perfect. There were perhaps things that you needed to go through or situations and issues to be resolved to make the answer appropriate. If He had answered sooner so many of the collateral blessings would have been missed, the effect on others and on the kingdom would have been lost. God is always on time - He wrote the script. Mary, Martha, and Lazarus were special friends of Jesus. And when the sisters sent word to Jesus that their brother was terminally ill and Jesus didn't come, it was a great disappointment. Then Lazarus dies and four days pass and finally Jesus and His disciples show up. It's too late Lazarus is in the ground and we're recovering from the funeral. Jesus had said to His disciples (verse 14) for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe! To Martha (verse 25) He was able to show Himself as the Resurrection and the Life. When we appeal to Jesus, we are bringing the cries of our hearts to one who has all power and all authority, over life, over death, and even over history. When you know that God has given you a promise, you can be sure that not even your own death will cause it to fail - He will be on time)
