Jesus Is There in Our Hour of Need!

Mark 6:45-56 Ever heard the expression, "Can't see the forest for the trees."? Jesus had just fed five thousand people with five loaves and two fishes. Jesus put his disciples in the boat and sent them on ahead while he dismissed the crowd. After He had spent some time in prayer, He looked out over the lake and saw that the disciples were struggling against the wind. Jesus walked out to them on the water and when He climbed into the boat the wind died down. The passage says that they were amazed because they had not understood about the loaves because their hearts were hardened. It seemed that with each problem that came up they had to again be taught that Jesus was sufficient to meet that need also. It seems to be human nature to be such slow learners. There is a major problem in our understanding of who Jesus is. There does not exist a problem or situation today that Jesus doesn't have a way to pass through it. Even though we can remember so well how He did it in the past, we still have a problem with believing that He can do it again for the problem that is in front of us. The Scripture is serious when it says such things as, "I can do everything though Him who gives me strength." - Phil. 4:13. "Seek first his kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well."-Matt 6:33.; "My God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus." - Phil. 4:19.
