Seek the Lord While He May Be Found
Isaiah 55:6-11. Eccles. 3:1 tells us that, "There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven..." Have you ever discovered a coupon describing a great bargain, only to find that the expiration date had already passed? Or an event that you'd like to attend, and you discover that it had already happened. Or that you'd like to pursue a particular physical activity and you find that your body will no longer perform those kinds of movements. There is also an expiration date in finding the Lord - your personal death will certainly terminate any possibility of establishing any type of relationship. Finding Him even immediately prior to death is certainly far better than being lost for eternity. It's worse than spending years walking from place to place only to find in the end that all that time you'd had a new car available in your garage - available for your use. The best time to seek the Lord is always now. It is one thing to seek the Lord to escape Hell; and quite another to build a moment by moment relationship with Someone who loves you unconditionally and will always be there with you and for you. Isaiah, the Old Testament prophet says even to the wicked and the evil, leave your wickedness, turn to the Lord and He will have mercy, and will abundantly pardon. God desires to have a close relationship with people. The Bible talks about, "peace that passes all understanding." "The joy of the Lord being our strength." "He will never leave us nor forsake us." "He will supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Promise after promise He makes freely available to us. All of these things we grow into being able to receive over a lifetime of walking with Him. Just as human relations grow richer and deeper over the years. So also, our relationship with Him grows richer day after day after day. Invite Him into every area of your life. You'll be glad you did.
