Blessings Shared Multiply
I Peter 4:1-11 In a certain sense a church body should be a lot like a potluck dinner. Each person and family may not have enough for much variety in their meal, but when brought together and pooled with all the other members who have the same dilemma - there is produced a meal with much variety and plenty for all and more. It's not very difficult when one thinks in terms of food or building materials, or some other material possession. There are other things that are not material that are valuable and need to be shared with other members of the church family. The smile, the word of encouragement, the prayer, the Scripture that the Lord showed you that really blessed you, the experience that you've had where God, either directly or through another brother or sister, has met that special need that you had. When all these are brought together and shared and mixed with the needs and hurts of the family, somehow God is able in His power and compassion to meet the needs and heal the hurts and cause each to leave with a fuller blessing than what they came with. With the overflow that we take home we have what can be shared with a hurting world that desperately needs to know of a saving and loving God.
