John 18:33 "I have told you these things, so that In Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart I have overcome the world." Go back and read John14,15, &18 to discover what things that Jesus is referring to. He has gone to prepare a place for us and He's coming back to get us. He has sent us the Holy Spirit to be our counselor and comforter. He gives us of the things that belong to Jesus and empowers us to use them. He tells us of the importance of abiding, obeying, and of bearing fruit. The only real peace is as we are focused on this realm. The promise is that in Jesus we have peace. He told us straight out that in the world we would have trouble. This really should be a "no-brainer. We know from long years of experience that the world deals us trouble. Why do we continue to look at the world system as a source of peace? He has given us eternal life as a present possession. He loves and takes pleasure in us. He works all things out for good. We can walk through a world of turmoil and strife and have that: "everything is OK with me and God - peace inside." Let's encourage and intercede for one another to keep our minds and lives focused on our real source.
