The "Ah-Ha" of the Resurrection
It was the same day that the women had reported their early morning visit to the tomb, how they had found it empty and what the angels had told them. No one seemed to believe that Jesus could possibly have risen from the dead. Two of the ones who had heard the report were walking the nearby village of Emmaus, talking about all the things that had been happening. In the account that only appears in Luke 24:13-35 Jesus joins them, causing them not to be able to recognize him, and enters into their conversation. During the course of their discussion Jesus explains from the Scriptures how all these things were prophesied from the beginning. He was invited into their home and as he broke bread, gave thanks and gave it to them, the light of understanding came on and they recognized him. He disappeared from their sight. This was indeed an "AH-HA!" type situation. You struggle with a difficult problem or subject in school sometimes for a long time then suddenly a "light" flashes, your understanding is awakened, and things begin to fall into place. We can know all about the facts of Jesus life, of the cross, of the resurrection; but until it becomes an "AH-HA!" - that's for me - it remains only a bunch of facts that clutter up our brain. After the first "AH-HA!" that leads to salvation, there are many more as we walk with Jesus in the process of maturing. The process is often difficult and painful, but the joy and excitement of the relationship with Him and the occasional "AH-HA's" make our bruises like those received by the winners of the "Super Bowl'
