The Right Tool for the Right Job

II Corinthians 10:1-6. For the health of our tools, the efficiency of the job and sometimes for the sake of our emotional sanity; it always works better to use the tool designed for the task at hand. Although we don't always take time to find the right tool, we know that it really would be better to use the right one. We know that kitchen tools and workshop tools are classes by themselves. But many don't seem to realize that the weapons or tools that are to be used in the life situations of the Christian are not the same as the coping skills or tools used in the world. Not only do we use the wrong tools, but we very often use them in areas that are not the real source of our problem. Ever had an itch that when you tried to scratch where you felt it, the source was not there at all and scratching it didn't do a bit of good. It like trying to solve problems of depression and frustration by moving, getting another job or another mate. It may help a little for a while, but the real problem is on the inside and more than likely of a spiritual nature. We often picture people as our enemies, but more often than not, it's the spiritual forces of darkness that are succeeding in blinding them, us or both to the truth. It is amazing how enmity is dissolved when spiritual eyes are opened. The solution is not argument or debate, but serious time in our prayer closets. Prayer coupled with faith and perseverance will get the job done. Let's learn to use the spiritual tools that are available to us.
