We Have Been Called to Give Thanks.
"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His love endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say this---" Psalm 107:1,2. Just to say that "His love endures forever' should evoke a heart's cry of thanksgiving, but it seems people really haven't changed over the years from the very beginning. Unredeemed people just aren't naturally thankful. Even Christians, at times, seem rather ungrateful. His blessings and loving kindness that He shows us, have nothing to do with our being deserving, but only with Who He is and that His steadfast love endures forever. Giving thanks helps us keep things in perspective and proportion, that is who we are and who He is. To be thankful helps to keep us from the idea that we receive good things because we deserve them. Instead we need to thank God that we don't receive what we truly deserve. It is because of His mercy, His grace, and His loving kindness shown in Christ Jesus that we have salvation or for that matter anything other than judgment. Expressed thankfulness between us as a Christian family will do much to keep the church in proper working order.
