What Are You Planting?
Galatians 6:7-10 "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows'" Whatever is planted will grow. It is a law that was placed in nature by God at creation. Everything produces after its kind. A person attempts to mock God when he plants one thing and expects no results or something else to grow. To be more specific, we sow acts of immorality and hatred and are surprised when bad things happen in the lives of the people we touch, and in our own lives. We cannot control what someone else is planting, but we do have a choice in the kinds of seeds we plant. Some of the results of our old planting are permanent and we will by God's grace have to live with them, but we can change what we are planting. Godly acts, good attitudes, good words, and God's Word will begin to produce good results as we continue to plant. The first crops will begin to produce results in ourselves. As we continue others will be affected. Most people do their planting randomly and get random results. Planting with a plan gets specific results. In the world we planted with a plan to get what we wanted, usually immediate gratification. The long-range results weren't good but that was ok as long as they came tomorrow. In Christ we plant today for the results that will come tomorrow. We need to plant good seeds in ourselves, in our families, in our church, and were ever God places us. We can in faith count on God to produce the results in His time, if we keep planting.
