Be Humble Resist the Devil
James 4:4-10. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 1Peter 5:5a-9. How often do we tend to get an attitude, especially when we are tired stressed-out, taken advantage of, etc., etc. We say things like: it's not fair. I've got a right, they've got it coming. The old attitude routine stems from pride and the Word says that God opposes it. The opposite end of the spectrum is humility. Humility doesn't look for someone to blame when things go wrong. Humility isn't the first to take the credit but reflects it first to God then to a brother or sister. The humble one is one who will build up. The devil is a liar, he's prideful and seeks to destroy and devour God's people. People, even those who call themselves Christians, who are prideful, and tear down the people and things of God, are knowingly or unknowingly doing the works of the devil.
