Let Us. ...!
Hebrews 10:19-25 In this paragraph of Hebrews chapter ten there are five heads of “let us” with their accompanying “serving suggestions.” The writer is saying, since we are now able to enter the Most Holy Place through the blood of Jesus and He Himself is our High Priest. This is how we need to take advantage of our new position. “Let us draw near to God in full assurance of faith." Just as the altar was sprinkled with the blood of the sacrifice so that the priest might enter, so our hearts have been sprinkled with the blood of Jesus and our bodies have been washed by the “water” of His Word. “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” Discover what you have through your relationship with Christ and don’t let go of it. “Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” Certainly, we ought to spontaneously encourage one another in positive ways; but also we should give the process careful thought. How can we increase the level of love in the body of Christ? How can we express that in good deeds that will please and bring glory to God? “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing.” Don't ever underestimate the value, importance, and power of meeting together as a body. The being in one accord as we gather to worship and pray has awesome power. It is in this simple act of together seeking Him that Holy Spirit will move through us and do mighty things in and through us. “Let us encourage one another all the more as you see the Day approaching.” The “Day” that he is referring to is the Day of Christ’s return. Not only will there be an accounting, but there are people to reach and brothers and sisters to build up and prepare for that return. Encourage one another!
