Not Ashamed
Romans 1:16-17 When you stop to think about it, why would anyone be ashamed of the Gospel? After all isn’t the Gospel by its own definition - Good News". We’re talking about really good news -that we can spend an eternity in heaven by just confessing our sins and believing that Jesus died on the cross and rose again so that we might be made right with God. It's hard to come up with any better news than that, it's a deal that you can’t refuse. Isn't it strange, that when certain people are around, we would just rather not talk about it? We're afraid that that person might think that we are strange or might not want to be our friend. Which one are we going to spend eternity with - Jesus or this person? Besides that, why would we be afraid of offending them and at the same time by our silence say that it's OK with us if they go to Hell? The truth is that while we stand ashamed, Satan has won two battles. One, that we stand in danger of having Jesus be ashamed of us before His Father and the Angels and second that the other person is still on their way to hell. The stakes are high, and the time is short. If it's important for the enemy to keep you quiet, it is even more important for you to be that faithful witness. What if we're persecuted for our witness? What if we are! We're talking about the eternal destiny of people - people that we care about. He is able to keep that which we have committed unto Him against that day. Stay close and be bold!!
