The Tomb is Empty
The grave is often spoken of as the final resting place, or “here lies so and so...” They all have one thing in common they
contain the remains or what’s left of them, of the person that left the “land of the living.” The all-important difference in the grave of Jesus is that He is not there, in fact He was only a brief visitor. Jesus had said, “The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life-only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father." John 10:17-18 The reason He even came and lived among us was because He loved us. He spent His brief time in the grave so that we too might be only temporary residents in the grave. One day our graves, too, will be empty! The same One who made the promise that He would rise from the dead, also promised to return to take us to be with Him forever. While we wait for that time to come. He has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. ". . . whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 Thank God for the “empty tomb”!!
