Trix are for Kids

Matthew 7:15-23 You will probably recall the advertisement, a tricky rabbit who comes up with all kinds of costumes and schemes to be able to get some Trix Cereal. He is always discovered just as he is ready to devour his bowlful, He is reminded that “Trix are for kids.” We serve a God who sees and knows the heart. He discerns between the false and the true, the sheep and the goats, the ones who “want you to think that they are” and the ones who are. Jesus says in the “Sermon on the Mount”, “Not everyone that says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven." What He is saying here is that saying the right words and going through the right motions do not necessarily make you a child of God.” When using the term "kingdom” there are some important ingredients without which there is no kingdom. There must be a King, one who rules, one who makes and upholds the laws. There must also be a kingdom or domain over which He rules. There must be subjects or people who live under the authority of the king. In the “Kingdom of Heaven”, Jesus is the king and the will of the Father is the law of the realm. The true subject of the kingdom is one who is in tune with the will of the Father and is always ready to quickly obey. There is no place for doing one’s own program, in his own way and in his own time. This is why Jesus said that in the time of judgment many would be thrown out as evil doers, not citizens at all. The truth is that a tricky rabbit will never become a kid, but a counterfeit citizen of the kingdom can become a true subject. It is a matter of repentance and establishing a relationship with the King through faith.
