Getting Things in Order

It has been my very strong conviction in the past several months that the Lord is trying to tell us to get our households in order and our church in order; to make firm commitments to God, our families, and our church. We need to stop playing Christian, but to be Christians; to stop playing church, but to be the church. Eph. 4:12 and following says "to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” When one goes to a pot luck dinner, they will generally look into what they have and select something they feel that others might like. If one is going to participate in a work day, ideally, they will determine what the project of the day is, pick out the tools they feel they will need and go ready to work. In the church, wouldn't it be great if everyone sought the Lord regarding what they should bring to share with both individuals and the group. When you go to bless you get blessed, it would not be long, and the process would begin to spill over outside of the place of meeting. The excitement is contagious.
