Is Anyone Thirsty?

John 7:37-39 Do you ever get deep down thirsty for God? Are you just plain worn out from the daily struggles and grind of just trying to keep up? Do you just need the Lord to wrap His arms around you and hold you for a while? Jesus said in verse 37 & 38, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” Revelation says in two places: Rev. 21:6-7 He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son. Rev. 22:17 The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.” The woman at the well was offered living water by Jesus. Regular water just satisfies physical thirst, but not the deep-down thirst of the soul. Only Living water can reach that. It’s like the itch that you can’t find where to scratch. Some kinds of thirst are like that. Try Living Water. Are you lonely? Try Living Water. Are you tempted? Try Living Water. Are you depressed? Try Living Water. Do you just plain hurt inside? Try Living Water. Jesus is the drinking fountain. In your imagination picture yourself as a child crawling up onto His lap, lay your head on His chest, let Him put His arms around you. Now tell Him you're thirsty. Close out the world and just enjoy the refreshing closeness.
