Valuable Contents - Fragile Containers

Most people who have things that are valuable make sure that the valuables are put in a place that will keep them safe from damage or theft. One might put important documents or jewelry in a safe deposit box in a bank. It seems rather odd that God would place things as valuable as the Holy Spirit or eternal life into such feeble containers - human Beings. People are so fragile, they are subject to sickness & death, accidents, stupidity, sin, rebellion, carelessness, even old age. The idea is that the accent is on the contents not the container. Pretty, empty jars are of little value. Pretty, empty people also have little value. The value and beauty come from what God has placed inside us. Our dependence is on the contents not on the container. This container was not built to last, it will one day be replaced with an eternal container. It's the contents that are eternal. When we make our Humanity into something it wasn't intended to be, it draws attention to itself not to Him. When containers are broken or pierced their contents are released. When God filled people are crushed, broken, or bruised they leak, and the contents that God placed inside are released and they heal, save, and deliver.
