Come Out & Be Separate
II Corinthians 6:14- 7:1. You've recently received Jesus as your Savior - How can you hope to survive if you keep going back to the old life style with all its sin and hopelessness? You don't need to be told about the things that you are contending with - they are continually in your face. Verse 14 tells us not to be yoked together with unbelievers. This is talking about marriage, close friends, business partners, etc. If you're living with a mate that you're not married to, the Bible is quite clear regarding adultery and fornication - start making arrangements for separation. What if you're married to a spouse that is not saved? God is against adultery, but He is for marriage. Unless you're being physically abused - don't leave. Seek counseling, find prayer partners, and don't nag. Expect God to provide the grace to get through and believe that He will answer your prayers for the salvation of your spouse. Most things that we are into have taken a long time to develop and will not just go away. The closer you walk with Christ the more you will discover that you have nothing in common with your old sinful life style. The Holy Spirit will begin to convict you regarding your language, habits, friends, places you go, etc. Don't ignore His promptings, He may back off (He won't leave you, but you will not be conscious of His presence) and you'll find that the closeness that you once had with Him has cooled and things just won't be going well. If this is happening - seek Him until He shows you where you left the path and then do what he tells you to do. Remember the things we think we are enjoying will only last till death - heaven and hell are real and they will last forever.
