God Hears the Cries of His People
Exodus 3:1-10 "The Lord said, "I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So, I have come down to rescue them..." Do you ever feel that God is so far away, and that He neither knows nor cares what you' re going through? Sometimes when we're right in the middle of a particularly painful time we can't seem to remember the last time we could sense his soothing presence but there comes that time when a hole is punched in our darkness, and we can catch a glimpse of what He's doing. All we can say is, "My Lord and my God, you've been at work all along and I just couldn't see it." Friend, God does see the pain you're experiencing, He does hear your cries, and He is certainly concerned about your suffering. God really does care about you. He will listen to the same song and 1500th verse, and He'll listen just as if He was hearing it for the first time There was a slave girl named Hagar. Abraham and Sarah used her to help God out with His promise of a son, and then sent her away. God saw her in her misery and gave her a promise concerning her son that was to be born. The angel of the Lord said to name him Ishmael, because "God hears" (that's the meaning of the name.) She called upon God as Jehovah Roi, "The Lord who sees me." Let Him be Jehovah Roi to you. Don't so much search for answers, but cry out to Him, He will do all things well.
